Celtx v. 2.5 Release Notes - November 6, 2009

Revisions Mode - Revisions Mode can be used to lock scene numbers while editing a script. You can also track changes using colour coded edits.

  • Revision Toolbar – a new toolbar will appear when you are in the Revisions mode
  • R+ Increments - ability to increment revisions with one click
  • Revision Label – you can assign any name to the Revision
  • Colour Edits – edits in Revision Mode can be colour coded
  • Scene Numbers - nested Locked Scene numbering that supports Hollywood (A/B), Numeric (1.2.1) or create your own template.
  • Scene Fixer – provides an easy way to manually fix any scene numbers
  • Display Marks – choose between ‘All Marks’, ‘Current’, or ‘Hide’ to track colour edits
  • Omit Scenes – omit any scene
  • Reset – resets the script back to standard editing mode

Text Lock Mode - A new Lock icon in the main editor toolbar will lock the script so that the text cannot be edited. The Sidebar will remain active so you can still add Notes, Media and complete a Breakdown.

Sketch Tool - A new Sketch tool allows you to better visualize your ideas and shots and lets you add your own drawings to a Project. Sketches can be added as separate items to a Project or to your Storyboard.

The Sketch tool includes pre-loaded icons for camera, lights and people that can be tagged with text. There are also tools for drawing lines, arrows, shapes and adding text to the Setup. Professional sets of additional art images (eg. girl, boy, crowd, car, furniture/fixtures etc.) can be purchased from the Celtx web site. (Note: Art Packs work with Celtx v2.5 only)

Studio Collaboration Chat - An Instant Messaging app has been added to the software. This new IM Chat is available to all Studio users.

The new Chat feature will synchronize with your Studio and organize itself according to your list of Shared Projects. An online/offline status indicator will provide Project collaborators with a better way to communicate while working on Shared projects.

Typeset Formatting - Some new options added to the Typeset formatting feature include the ability to set a single, double or triple spacing after scenes.
